Second international encounter for the Neshama Project in Auschwitz - March 15/17 2026
From 15 to 17 March 2026, young ambassadors of remembrance from the NESHAMA project, representing more than 200 students and 40 teachers from partner countries (Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, and Poland), took part in a seminar at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. This event marked the culmination of the year-long NESHAMA project (Network for European Youth for Holocaust Remembrance).
During the seminar, participants had the opportunity to visit the site of the former Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz, as well as to explore the museum’s Collections, Archives, and Conservation Laboratories. They also took part in a wide range of workshops addressing both the history of the camp and the role of memory in contemporary society.
A strong emphasis was placed on exchange and integration, with activities designed to bring together students from different schools and countries, encouraging dialogue and the sharing of diverse perspectives. As Anna Stańczyk, one of the coordinators from the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust, explained, this approach aimed to strengthen interaction and enrich collective reflection.
