Polish ambassadors : Visits and workshop - March 18 2025
For this meeting, participants took part in a standard guided tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, offered in both Polish and English, followed by the educational workshop History Captured in Artifacts.
The workshop aimed to deepen participants' understanding of the history of the former German Nazi Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp through the analysis of selected personal artifacts that had belonged to individuals deported there.
Using photographs from the museum’s unique collections, participants explored how each object reflected the story of a specific individual, serving as a starting point for discussions on everyday life in the camp and the diverse experiences of its prisoners.
The materials addressed a wide range of themes, including the Holocaust and the persecution of Jews under the Third Reich and in occupied territories, as well as the history of Auschwitz through topics such as the fate of women and children, the persecution of resistance members, and the experiences of the Sonderkommando.
