Joliot-Curie (France) : Visit of the camps in the Loiret region (France) -11 février 2026

In February 2026, the young ambassadors of the Mémorial des martyrs de la Déportation set out to discover the camps of the Loiret region, in order to understand the journey of those rounded up in July 1942. 

The students visited the former deportation station at Pithiviers, then went to the outskirts of the former camp in the same town, where only a few traces remain. 

They were then welcomed at CERCIL – Musée-Mémorial du Vel d’Hiv, in Orléans, to explore its permanent exhibition and take part in an educational workshop retracing the journey of a family caught up in the turmoil of the Shoah.
