First meeting with partners - April 29 2025
On 29 April 2025, the agreement establishing the European Network of Young Ambassadors of Holocaust Remembrance (NESHAMA) was officially signed at the Hôtel de Brienne under the chairmanship of Patricia Mirallès, Minister Delegate for Remembrance and Veterans of France, in the presence of numerous institutional partners and stakeholders involved in Holocaust remembrance.
Coordinated by the Mémorial de la Shoah with the support of the European Commission, the NESHAMA project aims to ensure the continuity of Holocaust remembrance by empowering younger generations through international cooperation and education.
For the 2024–2026 edition, the consortium brings together eight partner institutions from five European countries: the Langenstein-Zwieberge Concentration Camp Memorial (Germany); the Jasenovac Memorial Site and the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth of Croatia (Croatia); the Mémorial de la Shoah and the Mémorial des Martyrs de la Déportation (France); the Jewish Museum of Greece and the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs of Greece (Greece); and the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum (Poland).
Through this transnational partnership, NESHAMA seeks to create a lasting European network of young ambassadors committed to preserving and transmitting the memory of the Holocaust.
