Closing Event - Online meeting - May 12 2026
The final online session combined reflection, discussion, and personal testimony to encourage participants to continue their commitment to Holocaust remembrance beyond the NESHAMA project.
It opened with a recorded address by Olivier Lalieu, founder of the French Young Holocaust Ambassador programme, who shared how his own engagement began as a teenager and evolved into a lifelong commitment to remembrance and education. Participants then took part in an interactive workshop using FigJam to reflect on the meaning of NESHAMA and their future role as Young Ambassadors.
Three key concepts emerged from the discussions, empathy, awareness, and legacy, alongside broader themes of remembrance, education, responsibility, humanity, and European identity.
The session concluded with a testimony from former Young Ambassador Kevin Magnin, whose experience illustrated how the programme can inspire lasting civic engagement and reaffirmed that Holocaust remembrance is a long-term responsibility extending beyond the project's duration.
